NUC University at Florida Technical College (FTC) Elevates Nursing Education with Technology and Learning

Orlando, FL – The NUC University School of Nursing at Florida Technical College (FTC) is redefining nursing education with the launch of advanced simulation labs and interactive learning spaces at its Tampa and Kissimmee campuses. These new facilities combine technology with a teaching approach, helping students graduate with the confidence and clinical skills required in today’s demanding healthcare settings.

Advanced Technology Driving Real-World Training

The new nursing labs integrate tools that provide students with hands-on experience in realistic healthcare scenarios:

Gaumard High-Fidelity Manikins

Adult, pediatric, infant, and maternal models allow for life-like simulations of critical events such as cardiac arrest and labor & delivery.

3D Anatomage Table

A virtual dissection platform using real cadaver scans offers an interactive view of human anatomy, strengthening anatomical knowledge and diagnostic skills.

VSim for Nursing (Wolters Kluwer)

A virtual simulation platform that delivers realistic patient scenarios, enhancing clinical decision-making and critical thinking across the curriculum.

Seamless Integration into the Classroom

Rather than functioning as add-ons, these tools are embedded throughout the program. Students encounter simulations from their first term onward, reinforcing both theoretical knowledge and hands-on techniques. The Anatomage Table enriches anatomy and physiology coursework, while routine lab sessions help bridge the gap between classroom study and clinical practice.

Building Competence and Confidence

Through this immersive training model, students can:

  • Gain real-world experience before entering a clinical site,
  • Safely make and learn from mistakes during debriefs,
  • Strengthen teamwork and communication skills, and
  • Develop sharper psychomotor and critical-thinking abilities.

The result is graduates who are not only prepared for licensure but also better equipped to provide safe, effective patient care from day one.

Additional Program Features

The FTC School of Nursing also emphasizes small, student-focused learning environments, with:

  • Nursing class sizes capped at 25 students
  • Clinical and simulation-based learning throughout the program
  • Faculty with real-world clinical expertise
  • NCLEX licensure preparation
  • Modern simulation rooms and skill stations that mirror today’s healthcare facilities
